Dog Boarding And Training in Prescott and Dewey, AZ
If you wish to give your puppy a jump start on obedience training, my Dog Boarding and training program is the choice for you. It is ideal for dogs of all ages beginning at 5 months old and I've trained dogs up to 7 years old! It’s great for dogs with no behavioral issues; just owners wanting someone else to train the dog, teach them what to do and then keep up with the training. It's great for dogs with mild-moderate-or severe behavioral issues. Most behavioral issues stem from relationship issues with the owner, so removing the dog from it’s home for two weeks and allowing it to live with me in a calm, structured environment is the first step in getting it’s mind healthy. I am then able to have better success in teaching all levels of obedience and then transfer the newer, healthy version of the dog back to you with a “clean slate” so to speak.

Our dog board and train program serves Prescott, Prescott Valley, Phoenix, Mesa, Flagstaff, Kingman, and all areas in between. I've had clients travel from Los Angeles and San Diego, Tucson, Gold Canyon and Florence, AZ!
With boarding and training, everything the dog does is for the purpose of getting healthy, balanced and obedient. I remove choices and control everything the dog does, such as, put it on a schedule for food, potty breaks, training and walks. Doing this allows the dog to relax as it begins to learn the schedule. I control how the dog enters and exits all thresholds (crate/doors). Once it learns this, I start to curb over excited behaviors associated with a human coming or going at home. I control how the dog walks through my house because a dog that pulls me through my house on leash is certainly going to pull me outside on walks. And playtime? Yes! Once earned, playtime is a good release for the dog but also has valuable learning elements. I correct over excited play or jumping/mouthing that may come along with it. And if the dog is a good fit for my dog, Dexter, your dog will get socializing/play time with him where I can help teach the dog how to properly interact with other dogs. Once some rules and manners are established, the dog is increasingly integrated into my family life and given opportunities to make good choices in real world situations (guests, errands, etc.).
While in boarding and training program you dog will
- Eat, walk, train and have free time on a schedule
- Learn to wait at doors (crate and house door) to prevent bolting
- Learn how to control excitement with an owner coming home or guests coming over
- Will be trained to walk with a loose leash and in most cases, off leash
- Get socialized with my dogs, Dexter, Tuesday, Hurley and Bruno (if they are the right fit for each other)
- Learn or reinforce basic dog obedience commands (come, down/stay, sit, out, crate, no, duration place)
